MONEY
- Visa and MasterCard are now accepted for
the hotel bill, however the gift shop, snack bar and book store do
not accept credit cards. So, you will need to bring a few
checks to the island to pay these bills. Credit cards are also
accepted for donations to the Star Island Annual fund and Endowment
fund.
- As in the past, you can charge incidental
fees -- lobster dinner orders (apx. $12), conference photos ($10 for
one color photo), row boat rental ($3 per hour), etc. -- to your
hotel bill.
- You will need cash for the snack bar,
donations at social hour, a trip to Appledore Island ($20) and
personal debts.
- The boat fare ($41 per adult, $28 per
child 2 - 12, no charge for children under 2) and the parking fee of
$10 per day/per car ($80 for the week), will be added to your hotel
bill.
LOAS has a silent auction each week, the
proceeds of which benefit the Lee Reid
Scholarship Fund. Conferees bring items with them to donate to the
silent auction, which is usually set-up during the week in Newton. You
can bid on items until social hour on the last evening. You may pay for
any items that you win with either cash or by check.
